Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam has made cricket history by becoming the highest-ever run-scorer in Men’s T20 Internationals. He achieved this amazing milestone by passing the record previously held by India’s legendary player, Rohit Sharma.

Babar Azam, returning to the national T20I team after a period on the sidelines, broke the record during the second T20I match of the three-match series against the South Africa national cricket team in Lahore.

Babar needed just nine runs to surpass Rohit Sharma’s tally of 4,231 T20I runs.

He reached the milestone in his typical calm style, scoring the decisive run with a single driven towards long-off off the bowling of South Africa captain Donovan Ferreira in the 12th over of Pakistan’s chase.

Babar now stands at the top of the list with 4,234 runs in T20I cricket.

The 31-year-old’s record-breaking innings of 11 runs (not out) was part of a dominant performance by Pakistan. They comfortably crushed South Africa by nine wickets to level the series at 1-1.
